Luís Noronha da Costa
(Lisbon, 1942) Lives and works in Estoril.
Studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon, between 1959 to 1968, the same year received an honorable mention from Soquil Award. In 1969 is awarded the Grand Prix Soquil. His work is acclaimed and praised enthusiastically from his peers, as being avant-garde and received immediate attention from peers and art public.
Many honors are added to Noronha da Costa, the prize of AICA / MC, Lisbon (2003), a retrospective at the Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon (2003), retrospective at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2002), European Parliament Prize for Painting European (1999), in the 60's won major national awards and represented Portugal in artistic embassies - the Venice Biennale (1970) and the São Paulo Biennial (1969).

It was in 1970 the representative of Portugal in the XXXIV Venice Biennale; and in 1969 represented Portugal is the X Bienal de São Paulo.
