Pedro Casqueiro
Pedro Casqueiro (Lisbon, 1959). Lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
His work takes on varied forms, and is frequently characterized as contrary to the logics of classification, authorial and otherwise.
His oeuvre explores different visual forms, styles and languages through different media, using abstaction, figuration / pictograms, references to comic strips and pop art, as well as the use of letters and the painted word.
We should emphasize his presence in the Portuguese representation of the 42nd Biennale of Venice (1986), as well as his solo exhibitions at the Modern Art Centre of the Gulbenkian Foundation (1997, 1992), at Culturgest, Oporto (2012), at Chiado 8 Space, Lisbon (2012), as well as at Fundación Luís Seoane, La Coruña (2006).
